John Maine (born 1942, Bristol, England) is a British sculptor who has worked primarily in stone throughout his career, exploring the formal and material properties of carved and constructed forms in relation to landscape and architecture. Trained at the West of England College of Art and the Royal College of Art, Maine has carried out numerous major public commissions and was included in The Sculpture Show at the Hayward Gallery and Serpentine Gallery, London, 1983. He was elected a Royal Academician in 1995.
