Collection: Jim Dine

Jim Dine (born 1935) is an American artist whose paintings, sculptures, prints, and performances from the late 1950s onward combined personal iconography—hearts, robes, tools—with an expressive painterly handling that placed him at the intersection of Neo-Dada, Pop Art, and Happenings. Participating in early Happenings alongside Claes Oldenburg and Allan Kaprow, he subsequently developed a sustained studio practice centred on recurring motifs treated with accumulative intensity. His work is held in major collections including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Tate, London.
