Jennifer Montgomery (born 1965) is an American filmmaker and artist whose autobiographical and experimental films from the late 1980s onward address sexuality, power, memory, and the ethics of representation with formal rigour and personal candour. Her feature Art for Teachers of Children (1995) drew on her own experience as a teenager photographed by the artist Jock Sturges, generating significant critical debate about consent, exploitation, and the documentary image. Her work has been screened at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and she is associated with the independent and queer film culture of 1990s New York.
