Collection: Edward Allington

Edward Allington (1951–2017) was a British sculptor whose practice drew on classical antiquity, the history of ornament, and the cultural logic of the fragment and the ruin. His plaster, resin, and bronze works combined wit and melancholy, engaging with questions of cultural memory, value, and the aesthetics of decline. He was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 1991, taught at the Slade School of Fine Art for many years, and exhibited extensively in Britain and internationally.
