Antony Gormley (born 1950) is a British sculptor whose practice centres on the human body as a site of memory, transformation, and collective experience. Working primarily through casts of his own body and increasingly through large-scale installations and public works, his output ranges from intimate lead figures to monumental projects including Angel of the North (1998) and Another Place (1997). He won the Turner Prize in 1994 and has exhibited extensively at institutions including the Royal Academy, the Hermitage, and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.
