Condition: Very good. Light handling and minor surface marking to the textured wrappers, with faint edge wear and slight softening at the corners. Clean and complete internally.

The exhibition opened four years after Cragg received the Turner Prize and represented Britain at the Venice Biennale. By this point, his movement between discarded objects, industrial materials and increasingly complex sculptural forms had already placed him among the central figures of postwar British sculpture.

The catalogue accompanied a small exhibition organised by Zdenka Badovinac at Mala galerija. During this period, Badovinac brought artists including Cragg, Anish Kapoor, Richard Deacon and Alison Wilding to Ljubljana, using the gallery to establish direct contact between British sculpture and an art system being reorganised after Yugoslavia. The artists travelled with the exhibitions; meetings and conversations formed part of their reception locally.

Twenty pages record that transfer in a reduced institutional form: five colour reproductions, a bilingual text and the museum’s name held inside a nearly empty cover. Published by Moderna galerija, the catalogue retains the scale and economy of the Mala galerija programme rather than expanding Cragg’s established reputation into a conventional monograph.

The sponsor’s mark appears alone on the reverse. Artist, institution, translator, curator and commercial support remain distributed across separate surfaces.
