Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Galleria di Piazza San Marco, Venice, 31 January–12 April 2004. Organised with the Centre Pompidou, Paris. Large-format, staple-bound exhibition booklet, approximately 21 × 29.7 cm. Offset printing on fluorescent green wrappers, with applied institutional title strip.

Condition: Very good. Light handling and minor surface marking to the wrappers, with slight edge wear and softening at the corners. Bright and complete.

The Venice exhibition followed Horn’s presentation at the Centre Pompidou’s Galerie d’Art Graphique, held from 1 October 2003 to 5 January 2004 and organised by Jonas Storsve. The project brought together drawings in which pigment, graphite, varnish and fragments of previously produced images were cut, revised and recombined.

Opening in Piazza San Marco during the 2004 Venetian carnival, the second presentation placed Horn’s fractured drawings and recurring clown imagery against the city’s more theatrical public surface. The exhibition ran from 31 January to 12 April at the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa.

The booklet carries the three-language title only along its spine edge. Centre Pompidou, Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa and the Galleria di Piazza San Marco appear as consecutive entries on a narrow grey strip, leaving the fluorescent wrapper otherwise vacant. The travelling exhibition is recorded through the order of its institutions rather than through an image of a single work.
