Published for Louise Bourgeois: Zeichnungen und Skulpturen, Kunsthaus Bregenz, 6 July–15 September 2002. The cover reproduces Bourgeois’s spiral drawing On the Tile (1998) — four overlapping coils of red and grey pencil on a pale ground — printed across a restrained grey field with blue and red institutional typography. Inside, reproductions of drawings, sculptures and installation works are combined with exhibition information, visitor programming and a calendar of related events.

Bourgeois achieved wider institutional recognition following her 1982 Museum of Modern Art retrospective. By the time of the Bregenz exhibition, her drawings, suspended figures, spiders and architectural Cells had established a vocabulary in which memory, the body, domestic space and psychological confinement continually overlap. The programme moves between these registers without resolving them: a portrait of the artist in old age faces a dense German-language biography; a calendar of guided tours and film screenings sits alongside a full-page reproduction of Cell XXIV (Portrait) (2000), a figure in a wire cage.

A modest institutional publication positioned between exhibition guide, programme and illustrated record. Drawing and sculpture are presented as parallel parts of the same practice rather than as preparation and finished work.

Condition: good. General handling wear, light surface marking, edge and corner creasing, and gentle rippling along the lower portion of the wrappers and pages. Binding intact and contents complete.
