Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, 7 Rue Debelleyme, Paris (IIIᵉ), 2 March–6 April 2013. Original double-sided exhibition invitation for Jack Pierson’s sixth solo exhibition at the gallery. Colour offset printing on card stock, 14.5 × 21 cm. Film-poster composition to recto, with art direction and photography credited to Tim Palen; typographic exhibition details to verso.

Condition: Good. Creasing to the upper corners, light handling and surface marks, minor edge wear and gentle age toning.

The exhibition centred on Pierson’s sculptures assembled from found commercial signage, using phrases including THESE ETERNAL QUESTIONS, HIS QUIET WATERS and the large-scale installation DREAM. The gallery described the works as unfolding through the space with the narrative and cathartic structure of a film script.

The invitation carries that structure into distribution. A photographic profile, oversized title, ‘Official Selection’ laurels and production credits turn the exhibition into a fictional film release. The reverse restores the administrative record: artist, title, venue and the dates as they were first announced.
