Galerie Daniel Buchholz, Berlin, 2008

A printed support issued on the occasion of Some Faggy Gestures at Galerie Daniel Buchholz, Berlin, dated 11 December 2008 — the same date as the opening of Olesen's concurrent Buchholz exhibition How do I make myself a body?, placing the card precisely within a live exhibition and publication moment rather than as a generic gallery handout.

The front is reduced to a near-total black field. The reverse carries the announcement in a restrained administrative layout. Less invitation than relay mechanism, it sits between gallery card, publication notice, and distribution object.

In 2008, Olesen's work was already closely associated with collage, appropriation, queer historiography, and the social construction of identity. Some Faggy Gestures belongs to that body of work. The black recto pushes the card toward refusal; the verso returns it to administration. A small and exact object of circulation in which exhibition, publication, and authorship are compressed into format.
