Issued by Christine and Guy Brachot for Gina Pane’s Travail d’action, presented as the first in a series of manifestations ponctuelles — focused, confrontational events staged in dialogue with the diverse tendencies of contemporary art. The cover reproduces Situation idéale : Terre–Artiste–Ciel (1969), a colour photograph in which Pane stands as a small vertical figure on the horizon line between cultivated ground and open sky. Inside, the exhibition information — set in pale grey cursive — occupies only one quarter of the unfolded sheet; the remaining surface is almost entirely unmarked.

The exhibition appeared at a point of transition. Pane’s ritualised actions, performed between 1971 and 1979, had established the body as both material and a means of political and social communication. From 1980, she began developing the sculptural works she called Partitions. This invitation returns to an early landscape action while announcing the action work at the moment it was passing from event into photograph, object and historical record.

The action has already become an image, then an announcement. What circulated temporarily as exhibition information now retains the transfer.
