Produced for a three-person exhibition at Passerelle Centre d’art contemporain in Brest, this piece operates less like conventional exhibition literature and more like a compact graphic structure. Folded shut, it resembles an administrative handout or transit document; opened fully, the sheet expands into a fragmented visual field of pixelated typography, image blocks, institutional layouts, and fluorescent orange interruptions.

The graphic design carries much of the object’s presence. The typography recalls early digital displays, public information systems, or low-resolution interface language, while the fold architecture creates shifting sequences of compression and release across the surface. The result sits somewhere between artist publication, poster, wayfinding material, and temporary exhibition support.

What makes the piece compelling is the flattening effect produced by the design itself. Distinct artistic practices — Michele Ciacciofera’s archaeological and mythic references, Han Bing’s performative social gestures, Amélie Caritey’s ornamental sculptural language — are absorbed into a single printed system where typography and layout become the dominant structure.

A strong contemporary example of institutional print culture crossing into autonomous graphic-object territory.

Condition: Very good overall condition with light handling wear, fold memory, faint waviness to the sheet, and minor edge softening from storage and circulation.
