First authorised English translation of Philippe Thomas décline son identité, first published by Galerie Claire Burrus, Paris, in 1987. The book relates to a performative lecture given by Philippe Thomas at the Centre Pompidou in 1987 and later at the Musée de Grenoble. The lecture, its gestures, pauses, and delivery were already scripted inside the book itself.

A small but important publication within Thomas's system of displaced authorship. The book is attributed to Daniel Bosser, the collector who acquired the work, following Thomas's practice of separating name, author, owner, and object.

Printed matter as script. Authorship as transfer. A book that records the disappearance of the artist's stable position.
