Condition: very good; light rubbing and minor edge and corner wear to the boards, with a small bump near the lower spine. Interior clean. The yellowed tape, graphite annotations, smudges and irregularities reproduced within the pages belong to Albers’s original notebook and are not damage to this copy.

Beginning in 1970, Anni Albers worked regularly in a graph-paper notebook, developing geometric structures for prints and later knot drawings. By this period she had moved away from textile production and was concentrating increasingly on drawing and printmaking, carrying the structural logic of weaving into graphic form.

The publication reproduces the only known notebook in facsimile rather than presenting its drawings as isolated finished works. Page sequence, calculations, adhesive tape and changes in pressure remain visible. A private working support is transferred into a published object without being regularised or cleaned.

The plain grey boards repeat the proportions of the graph paper inside. Notebook becomes title, archive and edition.
