Collection: Yoko Ono

Yoko Ono (b. 1933, Tokyo) is an artist, musician, and activist whose practice spans performance, instruction, film, music, and participatory art. A central figure in Fluxus and the international avant-garde from the late 1950s, her work has consistently engaged with peace, perception, language, and the activation of the viewer. Key works include Grapefruit (1964), Cut Piece (1964), and Wishing Tree, first exhibited at Shoshana Wayne Gallery, Santa Monica, in 1996.

Ono has exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Tate Modern, London; the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao; and major institutions internationally.
