Collection: Vikky Alexander

Vikky Alexander (born 1959) is a Canadian artist whose practice centres on photography, installation and appropriation, examining how desire, landscape and consumer culture are constructed through images. Emerging from the Pictures Generation milieu of the late 1970s and early 1980s in New York, she developed a body of work that interrogates the seductive surfaces of advertising, tourism and mass media. Her projects have been presented at the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and internationally in group exhibitions addressing postmodern photography and media critique.
