Sophie Taeuber-Arp

Sophie Taeuber-Arp (1889–1943) was a Swiss artist, designer and dancer whose work in painting, textile, architecture and performance made her one of the most versatile figures of the European avant-garde. A co-founder of Dada in Zurich alongside Jean Arp, whom she married, her geometric abstraction predates and parallels Mondrian and the De Stijl group.
