Collection: Rick Owens
Rick Owens (born 1961) is an American fashion designer based in Paris whose work is characterised by dark, sculptural silhouettes that draw on Gothic, punk and classical references. Owens launched his eponymous label in Los Angeles in 1994 and relocated to Paris in 2003, where his work became central to a strain of avant-garde fashion identified with deconstruction, extreme proportion and a consistent rejection of commercial mainstream aesthetics. His relationship with BUTT Magazine placed him within a queer cultural milieu distinct from the mainstream fashion press. Owens has shown at Paris Fashion Week since 2002 and his work is held in permanent collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
