Collection: Paul Pfeiffer

Paul Pfeiffer (born 1966) is a New York-based artist whose practice centres on video and installation, engaging with questions of mass media, spectacle, identity, race and the construction of the body through technology. His work frequently involves the digital manipulation of found footage — sports broadcasts, religious gatherings, pop concerts — to isolate, erase or multiply figures, producing works that examine how collective attention and desire are organised around the human form. Pfeiffer received a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 2001 and has since exhibited widely in major international institutions. His work is held in significant public collections internationally. He was included in the S/O section of Know Who You Are at Every Age at the Bronx River Art Center in 2014, curated by Q_Raider and BDGRMMR.
