Mr. Brainwash

Mr. Brainwash (Thierry Guetta) is a French-born Los Angeles-based artist whose practice operates at the intersection of street art, Pop appropriation, and celebrity image culture. Emerging into wider visibility through Banksy's 2010 documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop, Mr. Brainwash works with silkscreen, stencil, collage, and photographic reproduction to reframe iconic images from art history, music, and popular culture within the visual language of graffiti and street intervention.

Publications collected here document Mr. Brainwash's practice and its circulation, including magazines, printed matter, and ephemera through which his image-world entered commercial and underground distribution.
