Collection: Lucy Lippard
Lucy Lippard (b. 1937) is an American art critic, curator, and activist whose writing has shaped the discourse around Conceptual Art, feminist art, and politically engaged practice for over five decades. Her 1973 book Six Years: The Dematerialization of the Art Object remains one of the defining documents of Conceptual Art — a compendium of works, statements, and events that charted the movement's emergence between 1966 and 1972.
Lippard's curatorial and critical practice consistently prioritised process over object, community over institution, and political commitment over aesthetic autonomy. Her writing on artists including Sol LeWitt, Eva Hesse, and Adrian Piper helped establish the critical frameworks through which much of the art of the 1960s and 70s is still understood.
Publications gathered here include exhibition catalogues, critical anthologies, and printed matter in which Lippard appears as author, editor, or essayist. Original period items.
