Collection: Kristin Baker

Kristin Baker (born 1975) is an American painter whose large-scale works draw on the visual language of motorsport — racing photography, aerial track views, speed blur and collision imagery — as a basis for abstract compositions built up through layers of poured and scraped acrylic on panel. Her paintings engage questions of speed, technology, spectacle and the limits of perception. Baker has exhibited at the Pace Gallery, New York, and was included in the 2004 Whitney Biennial. Her work is held in significant public and private collections in the United States and Europe.
