Collection: Jordan Eagles

Jordan Eagles is a New York-based artist whose practice centres on painting and mixed media works made with blood — primarily animal blood preserved in UV resin — engaging with questions of life, death, transformation, queer identity and the politics of the body. His work addresses the history of blood as a site of stigma, particularly in relation to HIV/AIDS and the longstanding ban on blood donation by gay and bisexual men, while also drawing on broader associations of blood with ritual, sacrifice and vitality. Eagles has exhibited widely across New York and internationally, and has been involved in advocacy projects connecting his artistic practice to LGBTQ+ rights. He was included in the S/O section of Know Who You Are at Every Age at the Bronx River Art Center in 2014, curated by Q_Raider and BDGRMMR.
