Collection: Hedi Slimane
Hedi Slimane (born 1968) is a French photographer, visual artist and fashion designer whose work moves between portraiture, music photography and fashion imagery with a consistent emphasis on youth subculture and physical refinement. His photographs, begun in the late 1990s alongside his work at Yves Saint Laurent and later Dior Homme, circulated widely in independent music and fashion publishing, including in BUTT Magazine. Slimane's visual language — high-contrast black-and-white, close physical proximity to subjects, a preference for unknown faces alongside iconic ones — became among the most imitated in fashion photography of the 2000s. Major retrospectives and monograph publications have established his photographic practice as a sustained body of work independent of his design career.
