Collection: Gordon House

Gordon House (1932–2004) was a British artist and graphic designer whose practice moved between hard-edge abstraction and the applied arts of print, publication, and record design. Closely associated with the visual culture of post-war London, he contributed to the design of the Beatles' White Album and was responsible for the typography on the back cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. His graphic work is characterised by an economy of means — isolated form, sequential logic, precise arrangement — applied equally to fine-art prints and commercial commissions. He exhibited at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, and his work is held in the Victoria and Albert Museum collection.
