Eve Sonneman (born 1946) is an American photographer whose diptych and sequential work from the 1970s and 1980s placed her at the centre of debates about time, duration and the relationship between successive photographic moments. Her paired images — often showing the same scene fractionally apart — introduced durational concerns into photography at a moment when the single authoritative image was being actively questioned. She was included in the 1977 Documenta 6 and in major photography exhibitions throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and her work is held in significant institutional collections in the United States.
