Collection: Erik Dietman

Erik Dietman (1937–2002) was a Swedish-born artist who worked primarily in Paris, producing sculpture, drawing, artist books and objects that combined absurdist humour, linguistic play and a persistent interest in the material life of everyday things. Associated with Fluxus and the Nouveau Réalisme milieu without belonging definitively to either, his work resisted categorisation through an idiosyncratic practice that moved between the poetic and the scatological, the tender and the grotesque. He exhibited widely across Europe from the 1960s onwards and was included in Documenta 6 in 1977.
