Collection: Duncan Hannah
Duncan Hannah (born 1952) is an American painter and writer based in New York whose figurative paintings draw on cinema, pulp fiction, fashion photography and midcentury popular culture to produce images of melancholy glamour and nostalgic displacement. Associated with the downtown New York art scene from the 1970s, Hannah studied at Parsons and was part of the social and artistic circle around the New York Dolls, Television and the early punk and new wave scenes. His memoir Twentieth Century Boy (2018) documents his New York years with considerable literary distinction. His paintings have been shown at the Tibor de Nagy Gallery, New York.
