Dorit Cypis (born 1951) is an Israeli-American artist whose practice spans photography, video, performance and installation, investigating questions of identity, the body, desire and the social construction of the image. Active in Los Angeles from the early 1980s, her work was included in key exhibitions addressing constructed and sequential photography, including Sequence (con)Sequence at Bard College in 1989. She has exhibited widely in the United States and internationally, and her practice has evolved to encompass facilitation, mediation and community-based work alongside her visual art output.
