Collection: Conrad Ventur

Conrad Ventur is a New York-based artist and filmmaker whose work engages with queer history, subcultural memory, portraiture and the archive. His practice centres on video and photography, often involving extended collaborative relationships with subjects drawn from New York’s queer and artistic communities. He is known for intimate documentary portraits of figures including Holly Woodlawn and other survivors of the Warhol Factory and downtown New York scenes, producing work that functions simultaneously as personal document, historical record and artistic proposition. Ventur participated in Know Who You Are at Every Age at the Bronx River Art Center in 2014, curated by Q_Raider and BDGRMMR.
