Collection: Cécile Chong
Cécile Chong is a New York-based artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, installation and public art, engaging with questions of cultural identity, memory, diaspora and the negotiation of multiple cultural inheritances. Born in Ecuador to Chinese parents and based in New York, her work draws on personal and collective histories to examine how identity is constructed across cultural and geographic boundaries. Chong has exhibited widely across New York and internationally, and has been involved in public art projects and community-based initiatives. She was included in the S/O section of Know Who You Are at Every Age at the Bronx River Art Center in 2014, curated by Q_Raider and BDGRMMR.
