The exhibition brought together new paintings made through Guyton’s familiar system of digital image, file, printer, studio surface and accident — including images of paintings drying on the floor, works tacked to the wall, remains of lunch, a January view from the artist’s studio, internet images, and enlarged bitmaps.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHere the poster itself becomes part of that chain. A studio\/city image is flattened into exhibition publicity; the title \u003cem\u003eNatural Wine\u003c\/em\u003e sits above it like a caption, slogan, social marker and deadpan joke. The red typography, Paris venue line, and large A1 format make the sheet feel closer to a public notice than a conventional artist poster.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGuyton’s practice has long treated the printer as a painting tool: files, scanners, digital editing, inkjet output, misregistration, streaks and surface errors become part of the work rather than interruptions to it.
