Recto features a colour image of books connected by multicoloured electrical cables, relating closely to Fatmi’s \u003cem\u003eConnections\u003c\/em\u003e works, in which religious texts, philosophical books, fiction, political writing and other printed matter are linked together through an unstable electrical network.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eVerso printed with exhibition details, venue information, dates, and the accompanying video programme \u003cem\u003eSurvival signs, œuvres vidéo 1990–2004\u003c\/em\u003e. Designed as a folded poster\/announcement, with strong typographic restraint on one side and a charged, image-based composition on the other.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFatmi’s work often examines how language, belief, media and ideology circulate. Books in his practice are never neutral containers. They transmit knowledge, but they can also carry violence, censorship, contradiction and authority. In this poster, reading appears as a live circuit: energetic, unstable, and potentially dangerous.
