A hammer and sickle are photographed as polished merchandise against a reflective surface, while the reverse reproduces shattered glass. Revolution, damage and commercial design are retained within the finish of a carefully manufactured publication.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eProduced during the Iraq War and the continued absorption of protest imagery into fashion and advertising, the catalogue does more than document Meckseper’s installations. It repeats their method. Political symbol, artwork and consumer object are isolated, sequenced and returned as merchandise.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis copy remains unopened in its original Sternberg Press shrink-wrap, preserving the publication in the form in which it first entered circulation.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e24 × 24 cm. 48 pages.
