The exhibition brought together expanded Polaroids and objects spanning 1973–2003. Measuring 13.5 × 21 cm, the invitation is offset-printed in colour to the recto with black printing to the verso and reproduces Transgendered Sacred Heart (sketch), 2003, credited to BREYER P-ORRIDGE, the collaborative identity of Genesis P-Orridge and Lady Jaye Breyer. The image combines a Catholic Sacred Heart prayer card with a Polaroid photograph, retaining the halo, clouds and devotional composition while introducing an altered body and suspended red heart. The distinction between the individual name in the exhibition title and the collaborative image credit places the invitation within the development of the couple’s Pandrogeny Project, which explored shared identity through bodily modification, photography and performance. This example is signed vertically in ballpoint beside the figure’s halo, with the Psychick Cross and number 23 associated with Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth. From the James Birch Collection, it formed part of a group of five individually signed invitations retained by the exhibition’s organiser and documented in the October 2026 Sworders sale; this is a recorded group of signed copies, not a stated edition of five. Condition is very good, with a faint paperclip indentation at the lower right corner; otherwise clean. Retained by Birch, the invitation records both the exhibition’s circulation and the coexistence of the individual and collaborative names within its printed presentation.

Read more in the Journal: RE:CIRCULATION No. 009, Found Prayer Card.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0991/5636/1554/files/Genesis_Breyer_P-Orridge_A22_GALLERY_Invitation_2003_Signed01_jpg.png?v=1791814614
breyer-p-orridge-prayers-for-pandrogeny-breaking-sex-2003
BREYER P-ORRIDGE, Prayers for Pandrogeny & Breaking Sex, 2003

Produced in 2003 under the shared name Breyer P-Orridge, this set of eight printed devotional cards, titled Prayers for Pandrogeny & Breaking Sex, belongs to the early period of Genesis P-Orridge and Lady Jaye Breyer’s Pandrogeny Project. Each card measures 7.5 × 4.4 cm and carries a colour reproduction of a modified Sacred Heart image to the recto, with black text to the verso. The image retains the halo and devotional composition while replacing the conventional religious anatomy with an exposed chest and suspended red heart. The reverse texts take the form of prayers, declarations and a litany concerned with gender, identity and bodily transformation; all eight conclude with “S/HE IS HER/E” and the copyright notice © Breyer P-Orridge 2003. Through bodily modification, photography, performance and language, the collaboration explored the construction of a shared identity, redirecting the familiar devotional card towards propositions about the body and its capacity for change. The cards are accompanied by their original textured cream envelope, measuring 15.9 × 11.2 cm, with a blind-embossed circular LIMITED / P-ORRIDGE seal and two handwritten signatures in different inks to the front: “J Breyer” for Lady Jaye in grey, and Genesis P-Orridge in black ink. The seal does not establish an edition size. Condition is very good: the cards are clean, while the envelope has light handling wear, minor creasing and a small area of wear at the flap tip. Across the set, a repeated devotional image accompanies eight different texts, making repetition itself part of the object’s treatment of shared identity.

Read more in the Journal: RE:CIRCULATION No. 009, Found Prayer Card.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0991/5636/1554/files/Genesis_Breyer_P-Orridge_A22_GALLERY_Invitation_2003_01_jpg.png?v=1791826394
genesis-p-orridge-cultural-engineer-business-card-new-york
GENESIS P-ORRIDGE, Cultural Engineer, Business Card, New York, c. late 1990s

Printed for Genesis P-Orridge's years in New York, this business card gives its holder a job title, Cultural Engineer, and a promise across the top: "Your 15 minutes just became eternity." The line takes Andy Warhol's fifteen minutes of fame and makes them permanent.
